Billiard Lights

Billiards used to be played outside, on a large lawn during the day. When it moved inside and became a table top game it also became possible to play the game at anytime as long as there was light. Some of the first tables were probably lit with candles and many surely must have been in elaborate chandeliers, billiards was a game originally played by the rich.

Billiard lights have always been extravagant looking to say the least. Even the ones found in bars advertising beer are made to look finely crafted, even though they are most likely injection molded. Victorian and gothic styles are considered the traditional style for pool lights and it is much imitated and adapted.

Modern billiard lights come in many different styles, materials and even different bulbs. Light emitting diodes are becoming popular because of their incredibly long life and efficiency plus their ability to be easily dimmed and brightened. There are traditional fashions with modern wiring and modern lights with equally high tech inner workings. Without one, it would be very difficult to play pool or billiards anywhere.
